Adobe premiere pro 6 – Part II

The previous article on the above-mentioned topic (Part-I) threw some light on the basics of how to import a project or a video into Premiere pro. It also elucidated the necessary simple steps that are crucial in understanding the operation of premiere pro software.

Adobe premiere pro 6 for beginners is not very difficult to understand, and the importance of the software was discussed in the previous article. In this article, we will delve deeper into the operation of the software and thus, refine the efficiency of beginners using the premiere pro software.

Here are some more aspects of premiere pro that need to be looked upon for fluent use of the software:

 1. Timeline Panel

The timeline panel in premiere pro is as important as the project panel. Right after the file has been imported into the Project panel, the next course of action involves dragging the video/composition into the timeline panel.

The timeline panel is crucial as far as providing cuts in the video imported is concerned. The timeline panel allows you to monitor the video according to its run time thus facilitating cuts.

 2. Program Panel

The program panel of premiere pro helps in displaying the selected portion of the timeline panel. The marker provided on the timeline panel moves on the manual movement of the mouse, and the corresponding video is displayed on the program panel with respect to the marker on the timeline panel.

 3. Source Panel

The source panel is helpful in basic editing steps as it is equipped with all the basic editing tools. It is located above the project panel on the screen. For bringing the video into the source panel, the video is dragged from the project panel and dropped in the source panel.

This will upload the video you want to edit into the source panel. The options in the tool pad of the source panel are marked out, go to in, step back video, play, forward video, go to out, and insert button. The go-to in and go to out button helps to mark the beginning and end of the video with the help of the marker.

 4. Mark in Mark Out

The mark in mark out button will help you to select a specific part of the video for editing. Further, the selected video can be brought into the timeline panel by clicking the “drag video only” button and then subsequently dragging the video into the timeline panel.

The afore-mentioned points/steps are the most basic steps and ideas that will help a beginner to be able to work on the software with reasonable ease. But then practice makes a man perfect. So with regular use, premiere pro would turn out to be very simple and user-friendly.
