Editing The Whites Of Eyes Using Photoshop

Sometimes the eyes in a picture appear dull and reduce the effectiveness of the photo. Using the following steps you can brighten the whites of eyes using Photoshop.

Step 1: Open your image in Photoshop and go to Window>Layer or press F7 to open your layer panel. To create a new adjustment layer go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Level. Now don’t change any setting or slider, and simply close the panel. Don’t fret, just follow!

Step 2: The next step to brighten the whites of eyes using Photoshop is- change the Blend Mode of Levels 1 to Screen. This will brighten up the image, and this is why we simply closed the panel in Step1, without making any changes.

Step 3: Now we are halfway through the process of brightening the whites of eyes using photoshop. In the Layer Panel, click on thumbnail Levels 1, which will be highlighted with the white border once you select it. Now either go to Edit>Fill or press Shift+F5 to open the Fill box. Inside the dialogue box, change the color to black, and leaving everything else to default, press OK to bring the image back to normal.

Step 4: Press Shift+B repeatedly until the Brush tool comes, or you can just grab it from the tool panel. Making white as your foreground color start brushing on the whites of eyes. To attain perfect change, you can Zoom In.

Step 5: If you think that eyes have brightened too much, you can decrease the opacity of the Levels 1 adjustment layer, accordingly.

And it’s done. You have easily brightened the whites of eyes using Photoshop.
