add golden sunset effect using Photoshop

This one is for the landscapes and travel photographers. A slight touch and the scenario of your picture can be effectively altered. Here are a few steps if you want to add a golden sunset effect to your picture using photoshop.

Step 1: Open the image in photoshop and go to Layer> Add Adjustment layer> gradient map.

Step 2: When the Gradient map panel opens up click on the gradient colour drop-down button. Then on the slider showing variation from white to black, click on the extreme end of white and then click on the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Now note down the hex value of the colour and copy it in Photoshop. It is the code of the colour to be used. Press Ok.

Again, double click on a white spot, then on the drop-down menu and copy the colour code for the red colour. Press OK, and you’ll see that your gradient is changed.

Step 4: For the last step, go to the blending mode at the top of the layer window and change the blend mode to Overlay. In case you find the picture oversaturated, you can reduce the opacity. Now repeat Step 2- add a new adjustment layer- but this time select Levels and in the drop-down pre-set menu click on Mid-Tone Brighter. You can also adjust the levels manually. To give the final touch up you can make a few changes- the way you want them.

And it’ll be done.
