Best Graphic cards 2020

1. Best Mainstream GPU ($100 – $200)

Entry-level GPU options are plenty. Keeping in mind Power efficiency we’d recommend GTX 1650 Super as a good value-oriented GPU. If power input isn’t on your table, Radeon RX 580 with 8GB VRAM comes around the same price of $160. It is mentioned as one of the best Graphic cards 2020.

Another option could be the RX 5500 XT 8GB for $200 delivering an edge over the above two great options. On the lower end are RX 570. The 4GB variants are a steal for $120.

2. Best Mid-Range GPU ($200 – $350)

$300 price range offers limited options to choose from. GeForce GTX 1660 Super is an amazing option for the lower $230 price point. It churns out up to 20% better performance than cheaper Radeon RX 580 & 13% better than RX 590.

Around the $300 mark, Radeon RX 5600 XT is a commendable option. A great value and decent reliability. There were a lot of spotty driver issues with this in the past, however, most have been fixed with the recent updates.

Higher up the ladder, some models of Geforce RTX 2060 are available for around $320. Ray Tracing and DLSS support make this a future-ready GPU and an overall better bundle than RX 5600 XT. It can be the best Graphics card 2020 if you want something in mid-range.

3. Best High-End 1440p GPU ($400 and above)

Mid Range segments are highly dominated with better performing GeForce cards. Higher segments have stiffer competition though. AMD chips have shown much better value in these price ranges.

RTX 2070 Super is an amazing GPU by all means. It has the potential for a smooth 4K gaming experience and is equipped with the latest DLSS as well as next-gen Ray Tracing technologies. In all our tests, it has shown excellent performance. But unlike the previous segment, Radeon GPUs compete highly here. Radeon 5700 XT is almost 9% slower at 4K outputs but costs around 20% less. This huge gap makes 5700 XT a much better value for money.

Word of caution for selecting RTX 2070 Super: some brands are still offering RTX 2070 instead of RTX 2070 Super. The obvious choice is the Super version which is faster by almost 12% and costs the same. It is one of the best graphic card 2020 if you are going for high-end versions.

4. Best High-End 4K Gaming GPU (Over $600)

Nvidia is the undisputed leader in the high-end GPU segment. Anyone with a GPU budget of over $650 going to pick Nvidia chips. The only real choice is between RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 Super.

This is the point where the value proposition all but ceases to exist. While RTX 2060 Super is only up to 26% faster at 4K output than 5700 XT, it costs much much more than that.

Choosing between RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2080 Ti is fairly simple. If Price is not a factor and you just want the best consumer GPU available on market, RTX Ti is your pick. It churns 47% more frames than Radeon 5700 XT and even 20% more than RTX 2080 Super. This performance boost comes at a hefty premium though. If you are looking at fancy models like Gigabyte, ROG, Asus or MSI, be prepared to pay nearly $1200 for the highest performing consumer GPU on the market.
